Metal Sculptures

As promised, I will share the unique metal sculptures created by Layne Koina who was one of the artists I met at the annual Art in the Garden show in Enumclaw, Washington this past weekend.

Actually, I met him last year and purchased a few of his whimsical metal sculptures.







This year I could not resist his cat tails. The cat tails are metal and the leaves are stainless steel, so as it ages the cat tails will rust but the stainless steel will not. I look forward to this transformation.



Unfortunately, Layne does not have a website where you can see more of his creative metal sculptures. He is local to Enumclaw and is associated with Arts Alive.

Art In The Garden Recap

Arts Alive,a non-profitable charitable organization, sponsored the 6th Annual Art in the Garden Juried Art Show this past weekend. The show took place at the County Garden Bouquets which is a beautiful rural setting just 1.2 miles off the main road of 244th Ave SE in Enumclaw, Washington.

It was a well attended event despite the over 90 degree temperature. As one of the artists who participated I received an e-mail from the organizers saying that Art in the Garden exceeded its revenue expectations once again. It was an incredible amount for an outdoor show! Twenty percent of the revenue returns to Arts Alive. Apparently, people have already inquired if it will be back.

I came home with several art pieces for my garden and house.

This was my first experience and aside from trying to keep cool, it was wonderful. The artists were outstanding and very helpful. I borrowed a tent from my good friend Judi Colwell. I must admit even though it says "easy up," I needed some assistance in setting it up and taking it down.

I had a fabulous response to my art and several purchases. One woman fell in love with my watercolor painting "Another Find" and added it to her home environment.

Art in the Garden Juried Art Show

Do you enjoy experiencing an array of art and artists in a lovely garden setting?

Arts Alive,a non-profitable charitable organization, is sponsoring the 6th Annual Art in the Garden Juried Art Show this weekend, Saturday August 1st from 9AM to 6PM and Sunday, August 2nd from 10AM to 4PM.

The show will take place at the County Garden Bouquets which is a beautiful rural setting just 1.2 miles off the main road of 244th Ave SE in Enumclaw, Washington. There will be shuttle buses from the Southwood Elementary School parking lot; just follow the signs.

I am one of the artist juried into the show and will have available for purchase original watercolor paintings, prints, cards, and ceramic tiles. Other art includes
blown glass, abstract silk scarves, stone sculpture, original paintings, garden bells, whimsical garden art, garden bells, pottery, metal art, rock art, and wood turning.

It is a well-known show and people rave about it. Come join the fun!
